All you need to Know about Industrial Painting Projects
Industrial painting is a broad topic covering a wide spectrum of Industrial Painting Projects, including painting jobs such as; painting gas pipelines, manufacturing plants, breweries, assembly plants, power plants, slaughterhouses, refineries, abattoirs, steel mills, distilleries, among others. Numerous industrial spaces can be painted; we don’t consider a large number of them. Try imagining painting the inside of a pipeline, interior, and exterior of a chemical plant. These are massive projects and have to be dealt with uniquely in contrast to smaller projects such as painting residential spaces.
Painting large industrial spaces are quite a complex process. First, you have to clean the unit by power washing to get dust and grit off the surfaces before painting. Next comes surface preparation. Here, you will tape all windows and doors to avoid spray paint from getting onto them. Next comes priming the surfaces where a spray painting machine is used to prime the walls. When all these steps are complete, actual painting can commence. It takes a few days for a primer as well as the final paint coat to dry. Meaning, after the primer application, surfaces will be left to dry fast before the topcoat is applied. Different paint types, grades, and colors are used on both interior and exterior of an industrial building.
Industrial Painting Projects for exterior surfaces require the use of a pressure-feed spray painting machine. The process can be quite tedious, depending on the size of the surface to be painted. Once the paint dries, all tapes are removed from the windows, doors, and other covered surfaces, leaving an all-new structure.
Painting factory interiors follow the same process. Wall and floor surfaces are both treated similarly, with the only difference being that painting can be done using a brush or roller. As industrial paints tend to dry quite quickly, consistency and speed are critical in ensuring that no overlaps or lines are showing on already painted surfaces. Interior painting jobs will require that rooms be adequately ventilated, and nothing left inside that can cause sparks. Some other projects that your industrial painting contractor can handle include; waste disposal plants, leather factories, storage facilities, concrete plants, canneries, offshore rigs, warehouses, foundries, food processing plants, petrochemical plants, prefabricated buildings, fertilizer plants, glass factories, sewage plants, and so on.
Different types of Industrial Painting Projects require different types of tools, equipment, and crew. In other words, you will not need the same type of equipment to paint the inside and outside of a chemical processing plant as you would a food processing plant warehouse. Using the chemical plant as an example, the surfaces would be prepped and painted using non-reactive paints. Also, size matters as mega units require mega equipment and vice versa. Fortunately, no matter the size or your project, Factory Painting USA has all the equipment and workforce to execute it for you. Work with us, and we guarantee that your customers and visitors will applaud the improvement and work that we will have done on your space.
